Our analysis of the ERO report identified gaps in curriculum delivery, particularly in literacy, maths, and science, though play-based learning was a strength. The service demonstrated solid performance in children's wellbeing, whānau partnership, bicultural practice, health and safety, and leadership.

Owlets Forest Early Learning Centre is an education and care service in Putāruru with 68 children on roll. Our analysis of the ERO report from February 2023 found whānau partnership and leadership & governance at B-grade level, with whānau contributing to curriculum and professional learning systems in place. Bicultural practice was graded C, with te reo integration and culturally responsive teaching still developing.

Kiwi Iti Early Learning Centre is an education and care service for 29 children in Putāruru. Our analysis of the ERO report found the service has emerging systems for leadership and governance, and is in the early stages of developing bicultural practice with limited and inconsistent integration of te reo and tikanga.
