"Mokopuna learning is thoughtfully planned, assessed, and evaluated. Kaimahi work collaboratively to design a term-based learning programme that aligns with Te Whāriki a Te Kōhanga Reo and identified key learning themes across the year. Kaimahi use Mātai i te katoa o Te Tamaiti and kōnae mokopuna to capture rich visual and narrative records of mokopuna progress."

"Mokopuna learn in an environment grounded in whanaungatanga. Kaimahi foster positive relationships in their interactions with mokopuna through warmth and compassion. Daily routines and collaborative play promote āwhina, tautoko, and aroha with tuākana and tēina engaging respectfully with one another across both formal and informal learning contexts. Mokopuna are settled and enjoy being with their peers."

"Te reo Māori underpins all learning, supported by kaimahi who use open-ended questions, waiata, karakia, mihimihi, and whakapapa to deepen mokopuna understanding of language structure and purpose. Tuākana are beginning to express themselves in te reo Māori both spontaneously and in formal settings. Regular visits to the local marae enrich learning and foster a strong sense of identity and belonging through exposure to tikanga, kawa, and authentic language models such as karanga and whaikōrero."
