"Mokopuna have well-established routines for learning te reo. Kaimahi consistently encourage mokopuna reo development, modelling spoken reo and using simple karakia and waiata. They extend mokopuna learning and vocabulary through sustained one-to-one interactions while they are at play. Mokopuna are constantly increasing their understanding and use of te reo Māori. Kaiako provide a learning environment that encourages mokopuna to select, play with and explore a range of resources."
