Akarangi · 2025-10-20
"Teachers prompt children to explore resources and the environment. They encourage children to extend and develop their social competency. Teachers use mat time activities, singing and story reading to support children's language acquisition and their development of literacy and numeracy skills. They are also helping children to use and know about te reo and tikanga Māori."
Sound teaching practices, intentional activities, assessment portfolios in place, Te Whāriki principles embedded.
"Children are happy and settled in the centre, have trusting relationships with teachers, and respond positively to adult support for play. They work well alongside their peers, take turns and work cooperatively with others, and engage readily in activities that interest them. Children benefit from the centre's culturally inclusive curriculum that successfully fosters their sense of belonging and wellbeing."
Children settled, positive relationships, strong sense of belonging, good peer interactions evident.
"Parents are able to access digital communication about their children's learning, and this is helping to strengthen learning partnerships with parents and whānau."

Composite score
How this is computedOne or more dimensions missing from ERO data
Where Bumblebees Childcare Centre hasn't been graded on a dimension, the composite uses the national average for that dimension as a placeholder. Each affected axis below is flagged est. When a new ERO review lands, the placeholder is replaced and the score may shift.
The composite is a weighted average of six ERO dimensions, each scored 0–100 (A=90, B=70, C=50, D=25). The "(p47)" style suffix shows where the centre sits within its EQI band (peer percentile, when ≥10 comparable centres in band). See methodology for the formula + limits.
