Our analysis of the ERO report identifies effective teaching relationships and child-led learning in curriculum and teaching, though Te Whāriki outcomes integration is still developing. Bicultural practice was identified as an area for improvement, with te reo Māori integration noted as inconsistent despite available resources.

Kiwi Treasures Early Learning Centre is an education and care service in Stoke with a current roll of 35 children. Our analysis of the 2022 ERO report identifies strong practice in children's wellbeing, with responsive relationships and social-emotional support across the teaching team. Development areas include whānau partnership approaches, health and safety compliance (including medication records and safety documentation), and leadership capacity including internal evaluation and succession planning.

An ERO review in July 2024 assessed this home-based service across four dimensions. Our analysis of the ERO report found children's wellbeing, whānau partnership, and leadership and governance at B grade, indicating solid practice in these areas. Bicultural practice was graded C, suggesting this area needs strengthening.

Nurture@Home Tahi is a home-based service with a current roll of 100 children. ERO reviewed the service in July 2024. Our analysis of the ERO report identifies strengths in children's wellbeing and whānau partnership (both graded B), with calm, interest-led environments and systematic family engagement. Bicultural practice is emerging (graded C), with te reo and tikanga present but opportunity to increase daily visibility and integration.

Nurture@Home Rua is a home-based early childhood service in Stoke, Nelson, currently caring for 50 children. The service was reviewed by the Education Review Office on 25 July 2024. Our analysis of the ERO report found whānau partnership graded as B, with regular communication and support systems in place for families.

ERO assessed Birchwood Kindergarten as Not well placed in its 2018 review. Our analysis of the ERO report found the service met regulatory compliance in health and safety with effective systems and processes in place.
