In an Akanuku review conducted in February 2024, our analysis of the ERO report identified emerging te reo Māori integration with room for expansion, and compliance with health and safety standards following earlier corrective actions.

Atamai Education & Care is a home-based service with a roll of 100 children across East Tamaki and Howick. An ERO Akanuku review in April 2023 found the service had resolved multiple health and safety non-compliances and was meeting regulatory standards. Our analysis of the ERO report assigned B grades for Health & safety and Leadership & governance.

Atamai Education & Care East is a home-based service with a current roll of 80. Our analysis of the ERO report indicates the service demonstrates strong bicultural practice with Te Tiriti principles embedded and mana whenua acknowledged. Health and safety compliance has been addressed following previous identified non-compliances. Leadership and governance requires ongoing attention to compliance monitoring, with curriculum development noted as the next step.
