Our analysis of the ERO report identified Curriculum & learning as an area needing strengthening, particularly in assessment and individualized learning planning. Whānau partnership and Bicultural practice were graded as Competent, with communication systems and tikanga embedded, though cultural acknowledgment and strategic implementation across the organization have scope for development.

Makoura Early Learning Centre is an education and care service in Masterton with a current roll of 50 children. Our analysis of the ERO report (September 2024) shows the centre received an A grade for curriculum and learning, with an intentional, responsive approach aligned to family priorities. B grades were awarded for children's wellbeing, bicultural practice, and leadership and governance, with noted areas for development in documentation and internal evaluation.
